BOSTON – Boston Realty Advisors, the largest independent real estate brokerage in Massachusetts, represented Historic Tours of America in the purchase of 129 Commercial St., a 53,872-square-foot commercial building in Malden, MA, for $21 million.
The seller was a joint venture partnership of Oliver Street Capital and partner Bain Capital. The sale closed on Feb. 15, 2023.
“In working with Historic Tours of America to source a property that fit their criteria, 129 Commercial Street stood out as a unique asset,” said Mike Jezienicki, Managing Director of Boston Realty Advisors. “The ability of Historic Tours of America to perform as a buyer in what is still a competitive urban infill landscape helped to secure this off-market opportunity.”
“In the end, the transaction was a success not only for HTA but also Oliver Street and their partner Bain Capital,” Jezienicki said.
Historic Tours of America, an entertainment company that operates in seven states, will relocate from its current location in South Boston to the Malden property after completing a variety of physical improvements in the space.
The new Boston area headquarters at 129 Commercial St., which was the former Piantedosi Baking Co. facility, will allow Historic Tours of America to expand.
Historic Tours of America provides historically themed vacation experiences in Boston; Key West and St. Augustine, FL; San Diego, CA; Savannah, GA; and Washington, D.C.
